washers not working

Has anyone got any idea why the washers and both cigar lighters would stop working on my B6 tdi passat. Have checked the hand book for the fuses and all fuses in the fuse boxs appear to be okay. Is there a 4th fuse box not in the manual.

I know that the washers will not work if the bonnet is open. This would mean that there will be a switch or sensor to detect the bonnet state.
Might be worth checking for that.
Although, I don't think that this would be related to the cigar lighter. Maybe just a coincidence.

thanks for that. have checked the bonnet. The wipers still work until you unlatch the bonnet, so the safety latch works. I'm perplexed!!
