I recently got vag-com mainly in part to save money at the dealers but since buying it i have been trying to programme in the remote fob for my 1998 passat 20v turbo.
i have followed instructions posted on ross-tech site but to no avail.?
i onlyhave one key with the car so it has to be done through vag-gom as i cant try the spare key in lock approch.
any help is very welcome and a BIG THANKS in advance
    ian

It should go straight in, I do lots of them one key only. It may be that the remote is faulty.
