Volkswagen Polo Twist 2004 No audible warning sounds

Hi,
i have a problem with my Volkswagen Polo Twist 1.2 2004.

When a warning light is displayed on the instrument panel or I leave lights on/handbrake on etc I no longer have an audible warning sound.

Can anyone help me discover what the cause of this is and if it is an expensive problem to correct please. Will a garage mechanic have to repair it or would I be able to do it. is the replacement part expensive to buy.

I'm a student so not much money to spare!

do you get the clicking sound from the indicators if not then it is the speaker in the rear of the clocks which has to be changed depending on your skill level but be warned that if you mess up the clocks then the car will not start a t all and will be very costly

i do not get a clicking sound from the indicators so thank you for the reply, it must be the speaker! off to the local Volkswagen Garage for a quote!!
