Hello all, i have read the other threads but am getting confused, i have an audi a4 1.9 tdi 2006 s line which has the MFSW.

I want to know what parts i require to fit the cruise control and trip computer and does anyone know where i can get them from apart from the local audo dealer.

And one last thing does any one have any detailed instructions of how to do this?

    Cheers

    Shahid

    Hi,

I am looking at doing similar on my 2006 S line. Does the MFSW not control the DIS. Do you really need the dis wiper stalk?

Will audi do this work (supply and fit) and what is the likely cost?

    thanks

I bought all the parts from my Audi dealer. Prices below are approx.

    CC Stalk ~ £25
    Wiper Stalk ~ £65
    Cowl ~ £15

If you need the steering wheel control unit it is about £100

It is literally a simple case of removing the steering wheel cowling, the airbag and then the wheel, then removing the wiper stalk and fitting the two new ones, then reassembling and reprogramming with VAG-COM. It isn't too difficult and there is a good thread over on Tyresmoke that details it. Search for my username over there.

The only other thing you may want to do is to fit the washer bottle sensor which is easy. If you don't you need to short a pin in the instrument cluster to ground otherwise you will constantly get a low washer bottle alarm. Again, more info on this is over at TS.

If you have a multi function steering wheel then you don't need the controller.

If it helps, I bought items from local Audi dealer as follows:
    Lower Cowl 8E0953512P1DH (grey) £23.22
    Switch 4E09535214PK £23.73
    2 x screws N90906802 £0.18

The cruise control doesn't come with screws if bought through Audi dealers so you may want to add them.

So, total cost was £47.12 + VAT.

BTW, the garage wanted £275 to supply and fit this lot! Needless to say, it was DIY time.

    Hope it works out.
