    Hello friends

I am new to this forum but not to Audi. Good site.

Two queries if I may. Recently got an A4 05/2.0tdi SE high miles @ 105K with full main dealer service. What do you think its worth I hope I have not paid over the odd which I will reserve at present. It has cruise, daylight running lights which are probably standard, its a 7 speed CVT, also has F1 flappy paddles, it has miltifunction streeing wheel, a phone prep with no phone but a female voice is heard when the button is pressed on the s/wheel. It has a smart nav, not sure how to work that. phantom black is the colour, in london it tell you if you are approaching a congestion charge zone etc. and all the other standard features.

Secondly, can the wheels from an A5---size 225/50/17 fit straight on without any fouling etc. Thanks for your replies.

    Hi

I have a similar car. A4 B7 Avant 2005 manual. I've had it 18 months and it had 99k with full dealer history. I paid less than £5000 for it. probably worth the same now to be honest. I would say yours was worth about 6k or there abouts. Cheers

    Hi,
I did buy mine at auction and it was ex lease 35 months old with hpi certificate etc. It seemed that the colour and the fact that it was an se and just a 1.9 tdi that put dealers off buying it as there was never going to be much profit in it for them. The s-lines in silver and more understated colours went for miles more. I like red and thought that i could spend the saved cash on mods which is what i have done. A friend of mine has recently picked up a 2004 sl600 with 36k on the clock with 1 owner from new and fmsh. It cost 106k and had the original bill of sale. he got it for 19k all in. Does 14mpg at times but its not an everyday car and he's well happy with it. You can pick up some good deals when there is no reserve although some have reserves similar to what you'd pay outside of auction and they don't get any bids unless private man wants it. Cheers

But going by a year and a bit old CAP guide your car (if in good conditon) booked at £8500 Trade, just dont see how that would ever run through the ring at under 7k unless there was some issues with it that the traders spotted on the day!

On another note, what auction was that i wanna go lol

Hi, cap guide? throw it in the bin. Use your computer and do some research. What people actually pay for cars is the only guide you need. Prices of good late cars are more than they were 18 months ago as people have not been buying new cars therefore the prices of good late cars have increased. There is no specific auction that you will get cheap cars at, it just depends on the day and what other cars are up that day. My car may have fetched 6k or more on a day when it was not up against 6 other a4 avants that were more desireable to a dealer. You have to research all the auctions such as bca and check the upcomming auctions and then go and have a bid. I was just lucky on the day.

Still no way in the world unless there was a **** off huge crash outside and no one could get in to the auction would a tidy A4 Tdi go through the ring for under 5k a year and a half ago, just would not happen!

And yes i am in the trade and yes i have probable spent 2000+ hours at car auctions, and yes i sold a Cat D damaged 55 A4 3 weeks ago (light front end) for £5250 the first day it was up for sale Would not realy expect any less for one and that was in silver, just about the worse A4 colour you can get
