    Hi, I've got a 1996 A6 1.9 TDI (100 shape) fitted with climate control.

The heater & air-con work find, but I'm not getting any air at all through the face-level vents. That's nothing through the central vents and nothing through those next to the doors or those on back of the centre console. The blower works fine with plenty of air through into the footwell or onto the windscreen.

When the face level vents are selected on the control panel, the correct icon lights up. I've had the car for 4 years with no problems before. I'm thinking there must be an electrically-controlled actuator to move the air flaps, or maybe the flaps have got stuck through the winter ?

any ideas ? How difficult is it to get to the flaps or actuator ?

    John

It sounds like the signal to the centre vents potentiometer alright, take a look at this link with a full fault code read-out.
