Okay, so I'm new to the Passat, and i'm liking finding new things out every now and then, like the cup holder grasps in the front which swivel round and lock in place, to return by pressing the button adjacent to it, and being able to wind the windows up and down by pressing and holding the remote fob buttons, but does anyone else get wet after its been raining, you open the boot, and water drips all over you. It looks like it's not channelling it away properly!

If it's common to all passats post 05, then booooo VW for bad design!

It does it a bit on my Golf too - Opening the Passat's boot was always a lottery of not if I'll get wet, but how wet

Open it, let it come up about 25cm, hold it there for a second or two and see if the water runs off. Try it in different places and see if that cures it.

Can't see that yours is any different to anyone else's unfortunately....There's no cure unless you want to take a hammer to it

    Ahem - sorry

What I meant was the opening the saloon boot generally gets your BODY a bit wet.

I am, however, short - but not 5ft short

My estate is okay. I just open the boot (gently), stand back and let the water run off. Presto. Patience old boy, spend a few extra seconds admiring the sleek lines of your steed while it drains.
