    Hi all,

My wing mirror has had the indicator part of it cracked, I have bought a replacement from VW which is the whole indicator/reflector assembly but i'm having problems taking apart the wing mirror to get this part out to replace it.

On the replacement there are 4 screw holes so it's not going to just pop out i don't think.

Can someone help? Do i need to remove the mirror glass first, or is it the mirror housing? I think i definately have to take it apart at least some of the way to get at those 4 screws

    Thanks in advance

Hi, yes to make things easy when doing the diy and to prevent any damage or breakages, the best thing to do is to remove the mirror first. This pops out when you GENTLY pull at it after moving the angle fully upwards or downwards so you can get your fingers under the glass. Once it has poppedout unclip the wire and then you will see all the screws and clips etc that need to be undone.

I think from memory it is an easy job.

Good luck, ps I think there might be a DIY in the HOW TO section on removing wing mirrors/indicators etc.
