I'm about to change the clutch in a 92 jetta (1.8l) My question is will the self adjusting clutch cable adjust it self to the new clutch or will it need to be replaced. I'm on a bit of a budget and don't want to replace it if there is no need but if I need to I'll go with the manual adjust type. Any advise will be helpful.

    Thanks
    Steve

if the cable has got the retaining tie on it then push clutch lever down and clip cable at little tags
when clutch is replace it should readjust itself
the manual cable is about £10 from gsf so its up to you if you replace it
