Right.... im back from Edinburgh.. Just driven 265 miles to half a tank..

I have noticed if i have my air con on "LO" with fan speed 2 the fuel MGP is pretty bad..

So.. my trip as an estimate i have got around 33 mpg.. and for most of the trip i was pushing hard..

Well, after a pretty major service last week and a second round of fixes this week, both from the local Audi dealer, I got 36.9mpg on the way back from the dealer this afternoon. Not bad seeing as I only got 27.8mpg on the way there this morning

As well as having plugs, filters etc changed from the service, the car's also been treated to an ECU software update - it's now running on a full tank of super unleaded too and it seems to idle smoother.

Got a 200 mile journey this weekend so will be able to give a better test then.......

    I have a 2.0FSI and I average 29mpg.
I do all sorts of driving during a 25mile trip everday.
I have noticed that under acceleration the mpg goes down to single figures.
I knew I had a heavy right foot, but I didnt know it was that bad.

I picked up a 2.0fsi avant sport a few weeks ago. Very pleased with it, but I've been pretty disappointed with the mpg it's been returning. Even driving as gently as possible on a long run (mainly B roads + motorway), I'm lucky if I can get 30mpg (with the air-con off).

I toyed with getting a tdi, but as the car will only cover a few thousand miles per year, I decided it wasn't worth the extra purchase cost & went for a high spec fsi sport rather than a standard tdi sport (for about the same money). Parkers (their figures have been very accurate for the past 3 cars I've owned) quote 37mpg average for the 2.0fsi.

Normal driving on a variety of roads results in approx 25mpg!!! Makes my Alfa Romeo look positively eco-friendly (never thought I'd be saying that ).

Has anybody actually got an fsi that returns more than an average 30mpg or is it just marketing hype?
