  1. 2.0 FSI mpg?
    #1
    MrW Guest
Can anyone else out there with a 2.0 FSi let me know what their average mpg is, both driving round town / short runs and on motorway runs?

I've had my 52 plate 2.0 FSI Sport for about 2 weeks now and can't squeeze more than 3mpg out of it on short runs (not had a chance for a full motorway run yet), and that's being so careful with my right foot I'm barely ever over 2,500rpm

Just had a full major Audi service too with new plugs, filters etc so was expecting a fair bit more than that. I thought the FSIs were supposed to be economical, my old Golf 20V turbo was chipped, running 200bhp and drank much less juice!

    Is this right?

    3mpg!

Are you sure you've not got one of these?

    I presume you mean 30mpg?

My wife has an A3 2.0fsi s-line and averages about 30-35mpg on a slow run and 20-25mpg on a blast.

It's not been on the motorway yet either; we don't have many up here.

BTW had a trip over to the Isle of Skye last week and averaged about 25mpg in the S4, nay bad

    Sorry, meant to say 23mpg

My drive to work today, 10 mins in total, free run (no traffic), one small hill and I got 22.3mpg

At this rate I would have been better off saving a bit more and going for the Golf R32 I originally wanted (which I decided against because of high fuel consumption!)

That seems quite low, it also seems like short journeys, stopping and starting really hit the mpg quite hard

I average about 22mpg in the S4, to work and back, 20 minutes each way, 25 mile round trip on mostly country roads; which I think is bearable.

A guy was telling me, who lived in the centre of Aberdeen, and was commuting to work and back in town that he could only get 17mpg in his S4, but of course he was doing less miles than me.

Not long had one of those myself.
Ive been averaging about 30mpg to work which is relatively clear main roads and 1 short burst up a dual carriage way. Motorway runs are a little better (if keeping below 3 - 3.5 thousand revs but only marginally. 32 - 36mpg instead!

Well I used to have a 99 GTi Turbo, and now have a 2001 2.0L FSi A4 and have been nothing but impressed with the MPG.

My A4 only has the basic on-board computer so I can't give you the mpg, however I know my GTi would do around 215-miles to £30 of fuel and my A4 will actually do around 230-miles to the same amount of fuel.. So it's actually better, which I wasn't expecting!

Maybe you should speak to Audi?

i have a 2.0 and just worked out my MPG from over the weekend on short trips with the aircon ruinning on low with a fan speed of about 4..

    £30 = 140 miles @ 0.969p per litre..

    That works out at 18mpg...

Now thats bad... im going 250 miles tommrrow so it should go back to normal on the motoer way with aircon set at 18'c..
