door buzzer

I have a 53 plate Passat TDI Sport, When you open the door with the lights on a buzzer should sound but doesn't is there any way of switching this sound on and off, as all the other warning sounds work fine and the interior light also works fine.
Hope someone can help as it's getting to be a pain now. Thanks

I doubt there is a way to switch it on/off, so I'd begin by checking the buzzer itself. I have no idea where it is!

The buzzer is built into the instrument cluster.

Mine is dead as well.

I think there is either one buzzer than serves the lights on and one that serves the dash warnings like refuel etc or one buzzer does the lot. Either way mine is dead, it makes no noise with either the lights on warning or the dash warnings.

I'd also like to know if it is possible to graft a new one on / into the cluster ?

I can however confirm that it is not possible to turn them on / off... I've tried and checked that !
