    Hi Everyone

I am a VW newbie in Northampton. I am an ex-Citroen nut, until my beloved BX 16v was stolen and I decided not to drive cars that I liked.
After 3 years of Pug 405/Rover 620/Mondeo humdrum , I happened across my 1998 VW Passat 1.8t Sport. It's not as fast, or as agile as my BX, but I like it and have plans.....

This year I hope to go for a set of Koni FSD shocks with Eibach springs and anti-roll bars and perhaps later in the year a re-map/chip.

Meanwhile I have problems with the front wishbone ball-joint rubbers splitting and wear on the ball-joints, I'll work my way through replacing those a couple at a time. It was checked on the re-call 2 years ago and no faults found... Grrr

Anyway, nice to be here and I look forward to being an active member of this forum.

Don't get the BX16 and the BX16valve mixed up. The 16v was 160bhp standard and easily (for a non-turbo) tuned to 225bhp and above. It had the engine that was fitted later to the Pug 405 Mi16, and only weighed 1040kg.
Here's mine ........ and yes, that was the real plate.

Ignore the wobbly edges, it was something to do with the resize.

    Thanks for your welcome.
