Hi, I've hit a snag with diesel injection timing, the pump on my A6 seems to be different to the old 100 I was used to, can anyone give me any hints, (engine locket at TDC on 1 and dial test indicator poking into end of pump).

    thanks,

I need the year and engine code to look it up for you. It is on the ID label in the service book or in the spre wheel bay. Regards Peter

Thanks Peter, have managed to solve problem the long way, seems the calibration plunger on A6 pump moves on each cylinder rather than just on '1' for pump on A100, got derivative value on plunger to 0.25mm now engine on the button and car back on the road.

Another query if you have a moment, there's a small two-wire sensor the pokes out of the n/s grille, any idea what it's for? The car is a SE spec TDI (AAT) - climate conrol / leather upholstery / IR alarm

I need the year, the model, and engine code to look it up for you. It is on the ID label in the service book or in the spare wheel bay. I do not recognise AAT as an engine code. Air temp at a guess. Regards Peter
