Late July/early August Audi A4 changes

Another brochure is out - Edition 7.2 . I've stepped through and compared with edition 7.1 (early July). All I can see is :

2.0 TDI 143PS has a change with regards Executive pack. Looks like the Free of Charge Exec pack has gone to me as predicted by some on here.

The change that could affect some people is that

"Tow bar preparation (allows easier retro-fitting of tow bar)" has been removed from the standard car. It's not listed on any model now.

Pain and costly for those that want a tow bar added although the factory fit bar is still the same price.

Being in the limbo stage (car ordered end June, scheduled for build w/c 24/8), I presume that these changes are for cars ordered from now on.

I wish it was that clear cut. If you ask your dealer or even Audi UK, all the ever say is that they reserve the right to change the spec at any time.

I frankly don't see how that's reasonable with regards to a contract to buy a product.

Would it stand up in court if they said here's your A4 but we've decided to only fit one seat now ?

Yeah, appreciate that, but of the 2 changes you note, 1 is the tow bar prep (I have specced the towbar anyway) and the other is the Exec pack which I have ordered and been quoted a price for.

Thus in my case, I know how much I am expecting to pay for what spec, irrespective of their 'reserving the right etc'. and (not that I think that this will happen) if it isn't the correct spec then they won't be getting the money they think they will!

Bold words and ones many of us could have said.....but if your car turns up missing something and Audi say "we allowed to change that" then you can't break the contract.

The common issue at the moment is chrome exhausts. They should be there on S-lines and many people are missing them. Audi seem to deam this acceptable.

I had agreed the price with my dealer and was going to place my order for an Exec S-line on my return from my hols.

With replies gained on this great forum, I bottled it and placed the order over the phone on 29/07 from the departure lounge at Stanstead.

My chap confirmed he would up load the order on the system that day to ensure spec, order and price would be all as agreed/quoted.

Hopefully news will be good on my return from hot and sunny Portugal!!!!!

Fingers crossed for you. To be honest I'm not sure what day the new edition appeared on line
