    Hello folks,

I have been viewing the forum for some time having just purchsed a 2006 A4 S Line TDI 140 which is sitting on my driveway in need of some TLC, I purchased her cheap as she needs service, tyres, key, dents/scratches repaired etc etc

Anyway if anyone could give me some advice please:

1, In the engine bay where the batt sits I have a single plastic cover panel on the right (over the pollen filter housing), the rest including the batt is open and exposed. Should there be further plastic panels to cover this area and if so does anyone know the part numbers?

2, I have 235/40/18 tyres fitted to the car, I need new tyres x 4, would 245/40/18 will alloys & Tyres from a new Audi A4 fit mine OK? I need 4 x wheel referb any way so its looking cheaper to replace them all second hand.

3, Another wheel option is a replica wheel tyre set, are these replica alloys OK? I have heard of them being a soft metal which causes them to buckle easy.

4, I have no radio code for the CD player, if removed will it require the code to activate or is it stored in the ECU?

    Thanks Ady Burton on Trent

    1. not sure about the engine and battery covers - someone else more knowledgeable will no doubt be along soon.

    2. any tyre wider than 235 will not fit without rubbing unless you buy spacers. also by adjusting the width and not the profile the circumference will change. this will affect your gearing - probably not by a huge amount but worth remembering.

    3. I have replica wheels on my car and have done for a few months now - no problems at all.

    4. no sure about the radio and ecu code.

welcome to the forum and well done on choosing a quality car. Get some pics posted.....pronto!!

Thanks guys, found them. Very odd the bulkhead plates are not fitted as standard. For others info the part numbers are Main cover: 8E 2 819 447 01C Battery access hole cover: 8E 2 819 422 A 01C. Will get some ordered.

Will skip the bigger tyres on that advice thanks
