    2006 A4 3.2 cabriolet.

Cruise fitted and no problems with the steering/ABS modules.

VCDS is accessing the engine ECU ok, but it's throwing up this error message when the 11463 log-in/activation code is used...

Login Code Not Accepted by Controller.

Tried waiting 10 minutes several times without success.

    Any suggestions?

    TIA.

    Simon.

you need to change the engine ecu code ,use the long code helper in address 01 and change byte 6 to 0

    Byte 06 Special Functions II
    Bit 0 Cruise Control installed
Bit 1 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) installed
    Bit 2 Suspension Levelling installed
    Bit 3 Trailer installed
vag diagnostics, retrofits and general repairs

Spoke to VCDS guy, A8 tech.

He's already tried changing byte 06 to 0, but it wouldn't accept it.....

This was after it wouldn't accept 11463 and he's wondering if this could be the reason???

Should he have left it for a while with the ignition switched off before trying to adjust the engine ECU code?

It was tried repeatedly after being left for 15 mins with the ignition switched on.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Simon.

Ok the login should not have been used for B7 3.2 so retry the byte change and make sure the byte changes.Do you get a fault code cruise control unidentified position also check the measured value blocks in address 16 look at measured value block 4 and operate the switch to see if the commands are recognised then go to address 01 and mvb group 66 again check ccs status as this will show comms over the can bus as well as the switch position.
what have you fitted? do you have multi function steering wheel.Who has fitted the cruise for you and what vcds version are they using.
By attempting unauthorised/incorrect protocol for cruise activation you may need to retry the correct method of byte change in a day or two,if you can no longer change byte 6 then that's the problem and you may require a trip to the dealer to enable by using vas 5051b but you should be able to change the engine ecu code if you cant disconnect the engine ecu then reconnect it and retryAttachment 6459

Thanks again for your reply, a8 tech.

It's OE cruise fitted and I have MFSW.

    These guys fitted it.

They're a sound pair of lads - more in to sat nav retrofit, but they've done a few cruise retrofits and had no problems previously using 11463. (Haven't done a 3.2 before, tho.)

We're having another bash soon, your help is very much appreciated.

    I'll update.

    Simon.
