Do you have a sunroof? Do the pedals get wet? Have the door panels been off to repair a fault window winder mechanism?

Possibly a blocked sunroof front drain (they are in the door shut, use an air line to blow top down only or you get filthy water all over the interior, don’t ask how I know this) or the most likely culprit is the wiring conduit cover under the wiper motor is allowing water in, quite a long job to do and often requiring a new cover.

Hi - I had this problem with my mark 4. It turned out the windsreen washer tube wasn't sealed in place properly at the base of the windscreen near the hinges of the bonnet (sorry -not a very technical desription!). It just needed some sealant to stop rain water running in the gaps and I haven't had any leaks since.

I had this problem also. I used a net curtain spring to clear out the sunroof drains, needless to say it didn't come out the drain hole on the drivers side, meaning the tube had somehow disconnected itself. I removed the rubber bung above the wiring gaiter for the door and fished out the spring then applied some WD40 to the bung , slipped the spring through the bung so as to line up the tube and pushed the bung back into position. Pour some water down the sunroof drain to make sure it comes out the drain at the door. Job done no more water.
