Single door unlocking

Ive asked the dealer about this feature to be turned off when i collect my car and he told me it can be done by the DIS. Is this true? Anyone else know of this or used it on their new A3? The single door unlocking drove me insane for a few days until i got it changed! Anything else on the latest DIS that yiu can change the settings of?

I know you can do this on A4 & A5 but not on A3 that I was aware. I would still as the dealer to sort this for you when they PDI the car

He told me that the new A3 can be programmed via the DIS as he also hates the single door unlock on your key. I asked since my last dealer did it for free after a few days of me getting wound up everytime i tried to open the boot etc. I wasnt aware that the DIS would control the door locks though but he told me that this is now controlled via DIS....just wondered if anyone else had this fitted?

He said he would go through this one the handover so i guess im guided by the dealer?!

By the oneman i take it youve ordered the S3 since youve updated to show meteor grey?

yes you can on the A3. Its in the DIS menu. You can also choose whether or not you want all the doors to look after 20mph.

Thats what i was referring to as last time i had to have the key reprogrammed to open all doors but left the auto lock after 20mph on which doesnt bother me until i forget about it stop then someone tries to open the door or boot and cant because i left it locked as ive been over 20mph....thats annoying!

im most certain there you can set it to which door locks where? I chose mine as the default. Which is the driver and pas door. Simply to stop the door being opened. If this isn't on there, its just a simple VAG coding, that they can do for you. Last time i paid £50 to have the feature on my last car.

The full lock-defaults, locks EVERYTHING after 20mph. I'm thinking of changing this next time, as it's annoying having to press the key twice to let someone in on the side...especially when they beat you to the door handle!

Yes order should be with me in November!! I just do not want to stand out that much so no Sprint Blue

You dont want to stand out?! Its an S3 which will always stand out

I would love one and maybe one day when the numbers come up ill trade in failing that ill have to stick to my Sport!

So tlionheart you can set the door unlock settings via DIS to which door unlocks but you cant change the setting to alter the door lock over 20mph via DIS? I had the option last time to alter both via VAG com but not sure what ill get with the new one?

Can I ask when you placed the order? I'm getting lead times ranging from 8 weeks - 16 weeks from various dealers! All of them, however, say I must order now if I want it before xmas and thus avoid the VAT increase in January.

Is there a great difference between 1.8TFSI and 2.0TFSI in terms of everyday driving?
