    Hi,

I know it is probably not the best title and place to post it, but I can't decide what to go for...audi A4 avant or BMW3 touring? I'm starting to be more for audi but

why should I go for an Audi over a BMW? any objective comment?

    Many thanks

I would post this in the A4 Section to get a reply.
    Current - Audi A3 Sportback 1.8T Sline
Gone - Audi S3 Sportback Black Edition, Audi S4 Saloon,
Why not join the Audi A3 Owners Club

Whilst you are at it in a BMW forum too. Never yet come across a truly unbiased motoring forum. There are a few general forums with motoring sections which may not be biased.

At the end of the day my advice is this.

    • Listen to owners of both marques/models.
    • Drive both marques/models.
    • Look at both.

    Decide
    One German, Two Italian.
    It's a Mercedes Benzzzz though

    thanks for your replies.

Indeed, I'm also posting in the bimmerforum.

Yes, definitely, I will do test drives, that will help a lot...

I was just starting my "search" as I believe that some of you went through the same path, just a guess...

    thanks

Aren't there just general forums on Pistonheads? Not I'd recommend other forums over this wealth of wisdom & dubious hive of frivolous buffoonery that is VWAF!!

Erm, would I be right in thinking the request for an explanation was about the preference of the Audi over the BMW and not why you've ended up with the BMW?!

Kind of maybe sort of , but they are all in their own sections. You can post in Gassing I suppose.

Malc... Is that you?! What've you done with the real Malc?!!!!

seriously though, totally understand what you're saying. Although things would have to get pretty bad to see me sat in an insignia.

I think most of us here would say go for the Audi, but if you post this question on bimmerforums, they'll say buy the BMW (after they've accused you of being an Audi Troll)

I'd suggest reading the A4 forum to see what things to watch out for, reliability, features etc, do the same on bimmerforums, then go and test drive both of them.

Both cars are probably quite good. The reason I'd go for an Audi though, is because I believe it has a more stylish interior.

Also because you won't be known to everybody else as a w@nk3r. And you'll still use your indicators.
