Hello, I have a 1999 AFB 2.5 tdi A6. I had problems with the oil mist separator and had it changed last year by Audi with the original part number V059 103 464. It seems to have blocked already and I have read in other posts that this part can be replaced by part 059 103 464 B which does not have the gauze filter which I think was the problematical element. Before I read those other posts I went to my local VAG garage in France, described the part I wanted but they have supplied me two packets with different numbers 059 198 067 and 046 198 475 B. Can anyone tell me if these two part numbers make up the revised 059 103 464 B part. It is a bitch to replace and I don't want to take it all to bits and then have to take the parts back and wait 10 days for them to be replaced. Thanks, Michael

Sorry to hijack this thread but these filters are made by Hengst for VAG. If somebody can get me the Hengst part number I may be able to get Euro Car Parts to start stocking them. Should be a lot cheaper than the £50 my local main ******* wants for one!!!

Hello, Hengst list fuel, air and oil filters for this car but do not offer oil mist separator, when the OE old and new numbers are entered no options are offered. Michael

Hello, Can now say that the parts ( 059 198 067 and 046 198 475 B)supplied by the VAG garage were incorrect, they were in fact parts that make up the diaphragm unit situated vertically to the left of the oil mist separator When the garage inputs your chassis number into the computer, there is no listing for oil mist separator, the part is listed as set of seals (set des joints in France). If your chassis is listed as up to Y you will be supplied the old style oil mist separator 059 103 464, even though it is a troublesome part, the gauze filter is made of a nylon type fine material but the fibres absorb the oil and in time swell and reduce the ability of the gases to pass through causing high crankcase pressure. The new part 059 103 464 B uses a different filter medium and should be less likely to block, but still fits the old engines. Hope this is of help to some members. Michael
