I googled it and stumbled upon a Honest John thread

    http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/po...ex.htm?t=70996

    so what IS the deal?

If comments in the above thread are accurate, anything WITHOUT a DPF should be ok? i'll be asking VW.

Rest assured, i'll be doing what I can to find out where this stuff comes from and who is distributing the stuff with my contacts in the fuel industry.

I know on newer VAG Group Products you can not use it - See Link

    http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/ow...biodiesel.html

Older VAG Group vehicles should be ok
    Current - Audi A3 Sportback 1.8T Sline
Gone - Audi S3 Sportback Black Edition, Audi S4 Saloon,
Why not join the Audi A3 Owners Club

The manufacturers may say its compatible, but they most likely also recommend you change your fuel filters more regularly.

    Why is that?

Because it clogs them up and turns them into weetabix. I've seen it. Okay, the fuel filters are easily replaced, but think what that weetabix is doing to your fuel pump and fuel lines.

I will not be looking to use it in either of my 3 VAG diesels.

As long as the manufacturers advise you to change your fuel filters more regularly, the stuff will never be totally safe for the engine.

[QUOTE] golfmk5gttdi at my morrisons (1.6 miles away) the pump handle cover colour is orange, thats how i noticed it.

It appears that Morrisons was the first to install a pump for E85 in Norfolk back in 2006.

ok i found some info at the end of last week.

The morrisons filling station around the midlands get their Bio deisel from Harvest Fuels which is in Dagenham.

I spoke to a Morrisons driver. He confirmed this. They pick up a full load and do a multidrop deliveries around numerous forecourts on the way back.

Morrisons has launched a new biodiesel that has been approved for use by PSA Peugeot-Citroen.
Now available at more than 50 of the supermarket’s forecourts, Harvest B30 Biodiesel can be used to run any HDi-engined Peugeot or Citroen built since 1998 – estimated to be some 1.5 million – without any warranty or maintenance issues.
B30 Biodiesel is made of 30 per cent biodiesel and 70 per cent standard diesel.
“Our new B30 is 50 per cent recycled cooking oil and 50 per cent rapeseed oil, all UK-sourced,” says Morrisons' petrol director Phil Maud. “It's refined in Northumbria, so we're very happy with it from a sustainability point of view."
In theory, B30 can also be used in PSA and Ford’s jointly-developed diesel engines, although Ford is yet to clarify whether it is prepared to offer the same warranty commitments as Peugeot and Citroen.
In theory, B30 can also be used in PSA and Ford’s jointly-developed diesel engines – which are badged HDI by PSA and TDCI by Ford. Unfortunately for Morrisons’ plans, a Ford spokeman has told us that the company knows nothing about B30 and will be unable to offer warranty support on the engine or fuel system of any vehicle that has been fuelled with it.
