  1. Opinions please for my R36

    Hi All,

I am currently undertaking some mild cosmetic modifications on my R36 variant? (wagon) and would be interested in ppls opinions regarding the roof rails.

The car is black and I have dark charcoal RS4 type 19" wheels on it and have also colour coded the front silver surround to a matt charcoal grey.

basically I'm trying to "toughen" the car up a bit without going ott.

The side chrome strips will be colour coded to the car as well (bt not the window surrounds as it needs something to break up all the black) but here's what I'm not sure of and will value some input.

I have a choice of either colour coding the roof rails or having them removed altogether, plates welded where the holes were and the roof resprayed so, basically no roof rails. Cost is not the issue, cosmetics are. Any thoughts anyone?

    cheers

Wow, first post...what a way to p**s everyone off !!

I like the roof rails, but I see where you`re going and the car will prolly look quite slick without, and visually, it will look lower too, I think.

If you dont need them, take them off, but remember that it may affect your resale value too.

I like chrome roof rails, so I'd keep 'em. I think they make an estate look smart and sleek.

I know it isn't either of your options but that's what I'd do, I wish mine weren't black!

I assume yours are chrome being an R36. If you must do something to them colour code them, don't remove them.

However, having no roof rails will make the car more unique, and I'm guessing that also factor's into your thinking.

Do you have any pictures of what it looks like at the moment?

Sorry, my bad, I should have at least gone to the intro section as a first post, I hope I haven't offended.
I've decided to body colour code the rails (black) and make a decision on the chrome trim after that (I might go black anodized for the bump strips and window surrounds)
So the colour scheme will be all black, charcoal front surround and charcoal wheels, a bit tougher than it looks now and different to the others on the road.
    cheers
