Hi All,

I have been looking to convert my B6 2003 Cab from Low Line to High line and have had some success:

1) split the cables for the rear lights and put in plugs and sockets, then built looms to the front for the High line using same socket ( allows me to flip quickly between low and high line)

2) built T connectors for the front lights - passing through the relevant wires and bringing the required ones to the power supply unit.

3) Built a T connector for the fog lights - some reason they use a different connector (black) in the passenger A Pillar - wired into the power supply unit.

4) Got a new switch that I wired using a new plug and some spade connectors so using most of the original wiring - new wires bought back to power supply unit - it has Auto lights setting.

5) Connected up the mirror only to find that I do not have a wire for pin 6 (Thanks KUFATEC!!!!) so will have to put in a new wire.

6) Wired up the coming home switch.

7) Wired up the brake switch to the power supply unit.

Anyway, all bulbs work fine - did the tests in VAGCOM and my wiring is spot on.

My problem is that as soon as I switch on the ignition, my dipped beams come on. I though this could be the "daylight running lights" so I looked in VAGCOM and only adaptation 1 and 2 show any items, plus 81

When I try to get the unit to learn my car's VIN it does nothing. Also I can code the unit for the US (000003) and back to rest of the world but when I try to swtich on the light sensor, trailer etc. the value does not change.

Questions:

1) Does anyone know what is going on (could the unit have been locked by the previous owner?
2) Does this unit need a login code, if so what is it?
3) How can I disable Daylight Running lights - I understand it is adaptation channel 8 but I just get an error when I go to this?

The unit itself has a suffix letter of E (8E0 907 279 E)

Any help would be great,

Walter.
