    Hi,

I've got my Passat booked into Justvwaudi in Bulkington near Coventry on Weds morning for a gearbox oil change and just wondered if any of you had used them before and what experiences you'd had.

It's a fixed price while you wait job for £59, which doesn't sound too bad to me.

My brother in law took his newly aquired Skoda there for a service and was raving about them, but now he's taking it in for something else and said he is less than impressed....

....he can be quite picky though.

Anyway, I would appreciate your thoughts.

This garage has now moved into Longford, Coventry.

The initial piece of work they did for me was good, would have highly recommended them, however, having taken my car back to them - very bad experienced and very very costly, slow service. I think they had my car for around 3 months of last year - full issue documented on the thread below.

Sounds a bit like my brother in laws experience, where he was initially impressed after the first visit for a service and less so when he needed some additional work done on the car at a later date.

His verdict was that he won't be using them again.

I have not used them since having the g/box oil changed (which hasn't actually improved the feel of the g/box itself) and their move to Coventry.

Having always been a fan of independants since my BMW owning days I am always left dissapointed when they eventually move to bigger shinier premisses, take on more staff and usually end up putting the prices up which ends up making them feel more like main dealers.

You end up losing that personal touch and being able to talk to the person that actually works on your car whilst often getting to have a look while it's up on the ramp.

This is only my opinion formed form personal experience of independant specialist garages.

    Completely agreed.

Having discussed the issues and follow-up work with Audi Coventry, it appears to be fairly common with this local indep.

On the positive side, Audi Coventry have acknowledged their labour charges are incomparable and will offer to match any quoted work or warranties supplied with any Audi parts through any indep garages. Given this is the case, I will be using Audi direct next time.

if a pointless bump is removed, it's removed with good reason.

unless you've got something to add to the thread, stop bumping it.

    Thanks.
