    Hi

I have a '96 a4 1.8, with the very original instrument cluster (analogue cluster, no trip computer, etc).

To put a long story short, can I fit an updated cluster from a 99-01 a4, with the added extras?

I'm told the b5.5 cluster has an immobilser unit built in, does that make a difference to retrofitting?

    Many thanks

Anything's possible, but which added extras are you talking about? There is an immobiliser in the cluster on the newer ones, it would be a wiring nightmare but an interesting challenge

my 97 has a dis screen and seperate immo box
so would be a better starting point than a 99-01 cluster
its the third extra plug that wont have on yours that youd need to fit and wire in
not impossible if your good with electrics

I'm mainly after the digital clock than my analogue one, as well as the LCD display.

All I have at the moment is the LCD milage, my car feels left out, lol.

Have these features ever come on the early instrument clusters? ie. without the immobiliser built into it?

    Thanks all
