I posted here years ago regarding the mk4 golf 130. Iv had the car now for nearly 2 years and basically its fantastic, just what i was looking for regardging power and money needed to run.

Baically iv had a chip on it now for over a year, from dragon performance. It gives a defininate improvement. Its also had a ss exhaust from manifold, K n N panel filter and a tank full of v-power - which alone adds a bit of kick!

With the car being 130 standard i was hoping for 165-170 now with all the little bits added. I know it isnt far off keeping up with scoobys which is impressive.

Got it rolling roaded today - 156bhp.

I watched an episode of top/fifth gear a while back where they had a golf tdi which was suposed to be i think 130 bhp standard, but it was old so it had lost about 20hp. They put in new injectors, inlet manifold (or cleaned them. cant remember) and did one other thing, cant remember what.

So basically i want to get these 3 things done AND anything else i can do to get the power back up to a solid 130 before the tuning mods.

I need some advice from someone who really knows as iv spoke with mechanics and the guys where i got the RR done and they didnt have a clue or wernt sure!

    Cheers Chris

In terms of getting it ready, clean out the eGR valve fisrt and inspect the inlet manifold when the EGR is off. Also consider getting and EGR delete pipe.

With regard to power, rather than a tuning box, get a bespoke re-map off one of the site sponsors. You should easily see 180hp that is if your clutch is up to it !

Iv been looking at the remap but first wanted to get the car back up to standard first. With the exhaust, air filter and v-power im looking for it to get up to around 145 without any chipping or remaps. 140 at least!

So whats the score with the injectors? Is it worth re-newing or cleaning them or wont it make any difference.

EGR delete pipe make much difference? What does it do for the car exactly??

    Cheers

wouldn't bother with the injectors unless you are looking for larger items. Plenty of vids of blocked manifold on utube you want to see some of the crud that comes out!
