    Hi all,

Could you guys help me with a bit of advice? it's an aircon problem that I am experiencing and was wondering whether I could do something before contacting the specialist. I have an A4, 3.0 tdi quattro registered 06. Everytime I turn the aircon on I get just cool air. I am pretty sure the compressor doesn't engage at all since I hear no noice once the aircon is on. I have already checked the fuses but no luck.

    What else should I check?

    Thanks for help in advance!

If you can get access to Vag-com, and access the aircon, you'll see the pressure in the system versus the pressure range with engine running, I'm not sure what the ideal manual pressure ought to be but mine was out of the lower limit, I recharged from a halfords dispenser which prior to vag-com analysis told me my pressure was fine. Works a treat now, no leaks either.
Still may be a number of other things but if the system cools down sounds low pressure to me.

Well, I think hte compressor doesn't engage at all. I went to kwik fit and they said that it doesn't work and that it's got enough gas.

    Can you recommend a specialist?

I'd ask for help in the vag-com users area near yourself. My car is also a 3.0tdi and I cant hear the compressor come in and out either but it works now. Not to say yours isnt shot but 5mins with Vag-com and you can see from the pressure sensors in the system wether the compressor or indeed a sensor is at fault, best option or find an independent vag specialist and run a fault diag first before going down a repair route, could be big bucks for a compressor and recharge.......ask for vag com help on the forums, someone must be near u down london
