    Hi All,
I'm relatively new to my B8 A4. And I love it!
I have the Phone prep (low) installed and it all works fine. My none listed HTC Mozart phone syncs and works OK.
The only issue I have is that sometimes the quality of the sound/reception is poor. This is usually when I'm calling a mobile. And if the caller on the other end is on Bluetooth too - we may as well use morse code!
So, my question is - Is there any way to improve the quality of bluetooth calls? Location of phone in the car? Settings? Etc?
    Cheers

    Hi there!

This probably is not the reply you are looking for, but here you go.
I have the HTC Sensation xe with the beats audio and Audi do have a cradle for it but from what I get at the moment is spot on, clear calls syncs well and everything.

I know depending on you make/model of phone you get different types or quality of blue tooth, could be worth looking at the spec of you phones blue tooth on the HTC site and compare it with some of their other phones.

As far and placement of my phone I did keep it in the arm rest but now I just keep it in my pocket.

Sometimes you can get interference from other devices even your own phone for example if its always looking for a WiFi hot spot or a gps fix.

Have a look about and you will probably get a real answer.

    Cheers.

Just compared our phones blue tooth spec.

Mozart -Bluetooth® 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate
    A2DP for wireless stereo headsets
    Other supported profiles: AVRCP, HFP,
    HSP, PBAP

    Sensation xe - Bluetooth® 3.0
    A2DP for wireless stereo headsets
FTP and OPP (object push) for file transfer
PBAP for phonebook access from the car kit
Other supported profiles: AVRCP, GAP, GOEP, HFP, HID, HSP, MAP, SPP, SDAP

I take it by reading this that the transfer rate could be the problem.

Thanks for this Paul. I wasn't expecting a magic fix to be honest - but time for a phone upgrade soon enough anyway!

    Thanks mate!

Re poor signal, that is as much the location of your phone in the car. Remember even though it is connected to the phone you aren't using the car aerial, just the phone aerial.

Re quality of call, make sure you are talking towards the microphone (located near the light area).

Try testing it with a Bluetooth headset (outside of the car) to see if the call quality is any better.

    Hope this helps.
