Please help! I have just changed my RNS-D for an RNS-E which I got from ebay. Everything is tip top apart from it doesnt link to the car now. The cluster display doesnt tell me what radio channel I'm on or show the sat nav bits like the old one did. I have tralled the net for answers but none of the ones I have found are not in idiots terms so that I can understand them. Does anyone have a simple guide as to what to do.
p.s. I have disconnected the Tuner module and linked together the coax leads and connected 2 to 8 and 3 to 9 on the 12 pin connector but this made no difference.
Please help before I smash it!

p.p.s. I also have a button fiteed which enabled the video to work while driving but this seems to stop and start the sta nav on this system.

You need to run two wires to your dash cluster. CAN H from the nav unit to Orange/Purple and CAN L to Orange/Brown, I think they are in the left hand plug on your dash cluster.

If you don't feel confident doing it then don't as you could easily damage things.

Make sure your video in motion switch is breaking the correct circuit. The better thing to do is get the nav unit properly modified for video in motion if you require it and remove the switch.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a whirl at the weekend. I also noticed the other night that the buttons dont light up when the car lights are switched on. I 'm assuming that this is part of the same problem and those 2 wires will cure this as well.
    Cheers

Thanks for the info. Job done now, all singing all dancing. Only had a little problem with the wires. It seems that the RNS-D that was in when I bought it was also a retro fit. Found the CAN wires on the grey connector though. I have also added a multimedia connector from ebay but the dvd picture is dogsh*t. I've fiddled with the adjusters on the box but cant seem to get it any better. The picture on the rear screens is fine. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks again for your help shark_90.
