    hi there

my name is angie and i've just be advised about this wonderful friendly website! ! i'm a new member, yippee for global knowledge!

i drive a vw mk4 gt tdi 2000 and i've just recently had a vw mfd navigation system fitted in the double din. it looks brilliant and is a quality piece of kit. it have a 5" colour map and good quality sound system linked to a vw changer!..

please can any members advise me how to remove the vw panels underneath the steering wheel column (left and right) to gain access to the two torx bolts holding the instrument cluster into place. i can't find anything to unscrew. i'm doing a mod on my instruments clocks to change them from the standard black to white day glo and also fitting some metal rings!...

i nearly bought a haynes workshop manual but being a girly dont like to get that mucky under the car etc!...

any advice on how to remove the front covers under the steering wheel, greatly appreciated! in return i will give you the knowledge that i'd to find out where to find the vw nav and entertainment unit. where it was fitted and the inside information you need to get it working!....

    many thanks everyone!...

    regards

    angie

    Welcome aboard!

If it's anything like the Passat, you need to remove the fusebox covers (end of the dashboard once you've opened the doors) and you'll reveal two torx screws.

Underneath the dash are two further torx screws, usually well hidden

    Try this - http://abella.net/vw/ecodes.shtml

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
