    Hello to the VW club.
Ok In order to fire up me van I have to do the following 3 TIMES.
Turn ignition on {glow light extinguishes after approx 3 seconds} turn off ignition , turn on ignition , let glow light go out {again extinguishes after approx 3 seconds} do this again and on the thrid on off I then trun the key fully to start the van ., If this does not work I have to go through the 3 stage process. Plugs have all been checked and are now new, Problem remains the same.

It would seem the plugs are not getting hot enough, have you fitted the correct plugs?

It would then seem the relay is not closed long enough to heat the plugs properly,i can only suggest try another relay.
