    Hi all

Trying to fit a parrott kit into my MKV and have a question..

When the ignition goes off my sat nav (MFD2) goes off as well so surely theres a switched live somewhere? Question is how I connect into this for the powering of the Parrott kit

Thanks for any help as dont really want to go into the Cig lighter, etc, etc on a 3months old car!

    PLEASE HELP!

    Nick

The golf does not have a switched ignition, it uses can bus signals.

You will need a sot-076 sounds on top lead. The cigar lighter on the golf is also permanent so its no use! We fit these kits in my work and your best to take a feed from climate controls or from your fuse box!

    Fuse box is probably best!

Easiest and most convenient place is to take an ignition switched live from is the climate control multi-plug which sits underneath the radio, using a scotchlock to bridge the supply to the orange parrot power cable.

I've just fitted a parrot CK3100 into my other half's Golf at the weekend past, stripping out most of the right hand side of the dash and A pillar and roof to run the wiring, as I'm a bit OCD when it comes to being tidy with wiring.

I fitted the mic up into the overhead centre panel so its inconspicous, and fitted the Parrot display just to the left of the main light switch, and attached it using velcro pads so it can be hidden in the glovebox if the car has to be left somewhere 'dodgy'.

    Hope this helps.

Re mounting the controller pad - mine is stuck upside down above the ashtray under the heating controls on the centre console- its completely invisible from inside and outside the car but easily reached when driving.

Why not just take it from the fuse panel?

I used my DVM to find a switched live on an unused socket, then used a spade connector to connect in (As a normal blade fuse would).

This is how I wired in my TomTom, I cant remember the exact blank location but it was in the bottom right corner of the fuse panel somewhere.

IMO this is the best method,
    1) You don't have to interfere with any of the car wiring.
    2) It is completely reversible.
    3) It is definitely the easiest

Let me know if you need any further help.
