I am asking for my mum who has a 1995 Polo with an ongoing ABS fault.

She's recently had both sensors replaced, at two different garages, as she was pretty much fobbed off price wise at the first garage.

Anyway as of today she noticed that the ABS light was back on, and staying on, not just this but she said her breaks feel as though they are ''snatching'' a real metal on metal sound.

Does anyone have any insights as to what the problem is, or even if it was sorted properly in the first place, any help would be greatly appreciated, she's at her wits end with this fault.

    Thank you for the response.

My mum had her car put on a diagnostic two days ago by my sisters boyfriend who happens to be a mechanic at our VW garage, it shows a fault on the front left side sensor, yet when looked out it's a completely new part that was fitted 3 weeks ago, and as far as he can tell there is no fault.

He assures us it's safe to drive etc, and has no idea why it is showing a non existant fault.

    So who knows.
