    06 Passat 140 remap?

Can anyone advise me as I have limited tech knowledge on these things. If I go for a remap "say Superchip" is there any possibility it may have an effect on any other of the car computer controlled systems due to over writing? e.g., climate control or cruise control etc.

As a result of a remap I don’t want to upset an already good car in the search of more HP

    Cheers!

THAT, my friend, is insurance fraud.

You are exposing yourself to a whole can of worms by taking that route. DO NOT DO IT. Idiots who do such things only increase the premiums for the rest of us.

Yeah that is true, I'm working for an insurance company in Chicago at the minute pricing insurance and the premium increase due to underinsured/uninsured motorists is steep!

If you use a Viezu dealer like myself then you will be in safe hands. All our remaps come with 2 years warranty and best of all are INSURANCE approved! Which many customers have found that it doesn't actually increase the premium.
It is essential that you always tell the insurance companies about any mod you do to your car otherwise you could find yourself NOT covered.

Hi what does insurance approved mean?

My understanding is: If the vehicle has been altered to increase the power output then the risk has changed and therefore a premium adjustment is inevitable - (even though it's still the same sane driver with no claims etc they feel the need to patronise us with more charges which don't actually go anywhere further to cover us!)

I agree dieseljames, I am sure, "insurance approved" or not, there are a lot of people out there either unknowingly or who who just try to get away with it, have failed to tell their insurer of remaps/bigger wheels/etc. The insurer will only find out if/when there is a claim and the car is inspected. Only then, may the "insured" find out he is not!! The insurer is entitled to turn down a claim/withdraw cover if there is evidence of non-disclosure. In these days of insurer databases etc, the "good news" will then be available to all insurers!

As I have said, in general most people who have a Viezu remap have found that in MOST cases there is very little change if any at all to their premiums. This is because Viezu have secured a type of deal with the insurance companies. Obviously this may not be ALL the companies that are out there.
At the end of the day, because you have TOLD the insurance company of the modification your car will still be covered, which will save you £'s if the worst happens.
