My new one should be with me in a few weeks... and I wanted to fit mudflaps to try and stop the stonechipping down the sills.

Was it easy to do?... and drilling involved, or is it just bolt them on?

Dealer wants silly money to fit them............. I'm pretty handy myself, so how is it?

Yes easy, just took my time as I didn't want to knock and damage anything.
Full instructions come with both front and rear mud flaps. It's just a case of taking screws out and replacing them with longer ones after fitting the flaps. The rears need one hole (8mm) drilling.

They cost me about £45 with a bit of discount from Audi. Audi wanted £165 for front and back fitted...

Sorry mate, v jealous about the car but this does not look good, I admit whole car still looks miles better than mine, a lot better, but, I can't help feeling like your car looks like a greyhound running with its *** on the floor. If you go for white or black you should resign yourself to the fact that you have to clean it every week, putting mud flaps just says to me " I spend a lot of money trying to look good but I must put up my umbrella as it is raining......"

How many of you go out on the town with an umbrella when it is raining ?????"

If its not a rally car or you go off road a lot....get out the sponge...sorry lambs wool mitt.

I take your point........... but I'm going to fit them for a reason!

Not to keep the car clean.... I wash my car (by hand!) twice a week, more if it needs it.......

But, I do about 45k per year, mainly motorway. My current car, and the last 2, all had serious stonechipping on the sills and rear valance corners due to stone chips and it looked awful........ mind you, my 06 plate has got 137k on it and rising!

The front stonechips I can't help (short of the clear film treatment which I don't think will last) but the sills I can reduce with flaps.

Anyway, Lava grey (nearly black) the mudflaps will blend in........

43k miles and you have time to clean it twice a week. They must be fast miles

Re mud flaps - I've no idea why Audi keep insisting that their flaps don't fit S-line or S4's

    No worries...

I put them on for the look more than for the anything. I had them on my Golf GTI and yes there were people who didn't like them and there were people who loved them, but in the end it was / is my car and I like them....
