    G'day David

    I'm assuming you've not newly installed this, disconnected the battery recently and everything's just been sitting there as usual until this error message showed up.

    In mine, in the same circumstances as above, I've seen that happen for a couple of reasons:
    one, it's a CD it won't read, ie non-audio or wrong type of audio CD;
    two, the stacking mechanism's jammed.

    The solution is obvious for (1) but for (2) I needed to get a long thin bladed screwdriver in the offending CD slot to pull the piece of plastic that guides the CD into the head, back into its proper position. Fiddly, patience needed . Then push the reset button and it ran through its stacking sequence ok and was good to go.

    Thanks for the reply GMS4. i have not disconnected any thing in fact i bought the car second hand and it was the first time i tried to insert a cd ( 4 months after buying ) also are you talking about a head unit or stacker as i cant see a large enough gap in the cd slot to put a screw drive into!! and dont have any radio keys to remove unit ( although i'm prob better off getting some ).
    Thanks again buddy for thr quick reply.

    Yes, a 6 CD stacker m8, the type that's in the luggage compartment with the amp + woofer static and connected to it. The stacker comes out in your hand if it's not jammed in the way I mentioned.
    I presumed when you say 'put in the CD' you meant put it in the stacker and then the head unit gave the error message. Which is exaclty what happpeend in my case.
    But by your reply I'm guessing you must mean you have the type with the single slot in the head unit itself.
    In which case, the stacker mechanism point doesn't apply, other than to reset.

    So if you've tried several different types of audio CDs and none can play, and if you have the security code for your head unit, take it out the dash, and reset:
    Pull out and put back the power lead then key your code in when indicated. If it doesn't help, then at least you have eliminated that
    Yes you'll need the keys - no problem, go for any that look like this :

    Cheers
