the car ia an s reg ahu 1.9tdi and has developed a fault where by if i accelerate hard from 1500rpm the engine just stalls out splutters and dies, this has happened a few times now and seems better if the peddle is feathered accelerating. when i pull over and restart the engine all seems fine for a while until i need to accelerate again, any thoughts on this would be very grateful

Guess work is often disastrous and often the reason for the fault will be a simple fault code read away, have it read somewhere else but it does sound like poor fuel delivery which a blocked filter could cause.
