    Hi All,
Im after some advice please. I have a 2003 1.4 Touran, the instrument cluster intermittently goes off an back on again, this only used to occur every now and again but now happens more frequently. The side affect of this is the car wont start without it being on.
I've pulled the instrument cluster out and checked the connectors they all look fine. Whilst the instruments are on if I move the cluster (or give it a clout) I cannot get it to come on or go off so im ruling out a dodgey connection.

Is there anything else i could look at to resolve this problem?

Ive found someone on the net that sells second hand clusters however I presume I will need to get the new one re-programmed (£100). There are also places that do repairs (£159+vat to fix, if no fix they still charge £50) Im loathed to take it to VW and pay a fortune.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Like you say, try the companies that offer repair services like cluster repairs UK. Thats probably the best bet to avoid the expense of getting a new unit. I know thats what I'll be doing.

I program replacement clusters in for £60 including setting the mileage to the correct value. How much are the replacements that you've found?
