Extended Warranty

I picked up a Mint A6 2.5tdi Avant Multi the other day and so far so good but i think the Gearbox is dodgy like they all seem to be.

Anyway i looked online and was quoted £550ish by warranty direct for there franchised securecare warranty.

They called me up today and i managed to get this cost down to £391 by haggling and 4 months interest free payments so i have taken them up on the cover.

I have a 30 day cooling off period to look over the documents when they come but i wanted to float it pass people on here to find out if i got a deal and if its worth takeing out the warranty.

It covers wear and tear after 90 days as well which seems good but is there anyone on here that has had any dealings with Warranty direct?

I, too, have taken out an extended warranty with warranty direct for a similar price.
I`ve trawled the internet looking for reviews of warranty direct and found quite a lot...most favourable. Being a suspicious soul it occurred to me that WD staff could have bombarded the review sites with good reviews but time will tell.

I really like my `04 A6 Avant especially the multitronic gearbox but it felt like I was driving around in a grenade with the pin out. I feel a lot better now but you can only tell the worth of a warranty when it comes time to claim.
