which is the correct oil filter for my 2004 1.8T quattro (190). engine code BEX. there seems to be 2 available, one beginning 06A and another which i believe is a larger size which starts 068.

Are you supposed to use the larger one for longlife servicing? according to TPS the 1.8T with engine code AVJ uses the larger one!

Please could some one clarify this. thanks.

Cheers for that one crasher! whats the difference between the two then, apart from physical size?

should the 068 115 561 f filter be used on all 1.8T engines or just longlife, or after a certain year??

The 06A is only listed for Switzerland for some odd reason but the 068 is a two year filter, if you must!

Bought new filter 068 115 561F (correct parts call up with TPS) and when i got home checked the old filter, its the smaller o6A 115 561B.

Rang Basingstoke audi who did a longlife service in december asking why they had fitted the wrong filter to my car. Upon them checking the part he agreed it should be the bigger filter and then went into some drivel about superseeded numbers etc.

Come on Audi, get it sorted and fit the correct parts to our cars!!!!!!!!Not even sure now if they have put longlife oil in or not, so thats why its best to do the oil yourself, at least you know what you put in.

The 1.8T engine suffers from sludging, especially on long-life servicing.
This cost me over £500 to put right on my AVJ, I now use a good quality semi-synthetic oil and the larger 068 filter every 12 months, as recommended.
