rattle

right Im hoping someone hear can give me some fresh ideas
on a problem that has been bugging me.
there is a rattle noise coming from the front of the car
around the alternator/water pump area.
does it if the car is warm or cold.
only does it when the cars idling or at very low
revs e.g. just pulling out of a junction.
changed the fan pully and tensioner incase it was free
play but this didnt do anything.
when I had the belt off I checked for free play in the alternator
but there was nothing........

so anyone heard anything like this before??

I'm not well clued up on cars but my mate had a bora with the same problem, found out it was just the engine cover that was loose at one end.

Mine does the same thing. I've said it before and i'll say it again these B7's are crap. Riddled with issues, not what i would expect from Audi at all

so its not anyhting serious then


checked the cover an its all ok....
someone said to check the water pump
as the impeller is prone to failing so ill try that
next
