I ordered my car at the end of April and have only just been told that the build will take place during week commencing 13th July and that I should get it end of July / early August.
From what I have read here that sounds optimistic, so I was wondering what others have experienced regarding build date to delivery date?.
The car is nothing too special, a 170 TDI Avant executive S-Line in Meteor grey with full leather and interior lighting pack, so I am a bit surprised that the delivery has slipped from the original quoted end of June, or was that optimistic anyway ?
If it ends up with the car being delivered to the dealer mid way or at the end of August, I might as well wait until September 1st and have the 59 registration.

I placed my order on April 16, car build week 23 (Jun 1-6), Car was at the dealer Jun 18, delivered Jun 24, you should find that about 3 weeks build to delivery is about right.
Surprised it took so long to get your order confirmed, with your order date you should really have had a build date around mid June. Then again now you can wait until Sept and pick it up as 59

I factory ordered my A4 on the 21st February and picked it up on the 21st April, so you shouldn't we waiting as long as you are.

Me thinks the dealer is full of sh**!

    Good luck!

Ask for the Comms Number and check when the order was placed with the Factory

Thanks for the replies; I will speak to the dealer over the weekend and suggest that given the delay I might as well hold off registration until 1st Sept.
I don't think they will be happy, at which point I will ask for the Comms number, and question when the order was actually placed with the factory.
I was told when I placed the order to expect a June/July delivery, which given your replies would seem to have been right if they placed the order then, it looks like they delayed it for a month? perhaps to satisfy there monthly targets.
I did drive a pretty hard bargain so perhaps they are getting their own back.
    Many thanks all.

My order was delayed because I ordered car with hill hold assist, and as we all now know it is not an option if your car has start/stop function, so there were a few e mails and phone calls between dealer and Audi until it was cleared up.

FYI it was ordered as an 09 at first then reordered as a MY10 in April and taking delivery Sept 1st
    Current- V10 RS6 Avant. Daytona de-badged.
Gone but not forgotten....B6 S4 Avant, Avus silver, miltek, de badged.

I took delivery of my 170TDI S line in May which was a date dictated by me. My order was given to the dealer in January. The dealer told me that that would help them, as they only ever batch processed orders rather than put each individual order in as soon as it was received. Sounds like you may have put your order in just after they had processed a batch.

    Regards

Hi TAF, sounds familiar my order was later than promised and was blamed on Batch ordering, spoke to the salesman in person for the the first time a week ago as he delivered a loaner for me to use, and he was not aware when I put the question to him on my doorstep that there had been any problem when the initial order was processed!! Vehicle Order Form stated 10/03/2009 actual order was not processed until 08/04/2009!!
I too come from the same area in Scotland as you!! Also they did not seem to know that s-line suspension had to be ordered!!

    Hi all
I'm waiting for my A4 Exec S line.(only option Met Paint) Ordered on 13th may and was told to expect it mid to late july. haven't heard a thing from the dealer( bedford audi). It's been the longest 8 weeks of my life, Waiting for my kids to be born was easier, probably because i didn't have pictures of them before i had them. Think i'll contact the dealer tomorrow

    Dear Mr Mac*********
I have checked order date information with our staff and John F***** maintains that he has already explained the monthly constraints imposed on us by Audi's new vehicle order system. Neil accepted your order on 10th March and I am told we placed this on the factory order system on 8th April when we had available quota.
In line with Audi UK procedure your car was ordered by us in UK specification RHD form (this being the only way we can specify the car). We are then required to get Audi UK to convert the order we have already placed to LHD - we requested this on 9th April by email and they actioned on 10th April and it is this date that appears on their system as 'Order date'. We can not influence factory production schedules and would never have been able to guarantee delivery dates.

Dunk (I placed my order on the 10/03/2009 and had an official Audi Vehicle Order Form stating the fact!?!)
