Hi guys, im new to the world of Audi (and loving it by the way ;o). the problem is this, the washer jets in the rear wiper has stopped working. the wiper itself works okay.

I have read a few similar threads on here and I've checked that the pipe is attached (a pipe going into a square plastic piece on the back of the mechanism) This is okay but i've noticed that there is some water seeping out around it (not much but a concern given all the electrics around that area).

Is there something that could have come loose inside the mechanism (the metal housing that the pipe is attached to)?

    Cheers in advance

    The Phatboy....

    Hi,
The rear washer on my 04 A3 2.0TDi wasn't working and I dreaded the thought of taking apart loads of interior trim to find a leak/break in the pipe. However, I first checked that it wasn't blocked by taking off the small nozzle attached at the base of the wiper to leave the end of the pipe exposed then operated the washer to see if anything came out.
Luckily for me it did, so I just gave the nozzle a good clean with a small pin and some warm water to remove the surprisingly large amount of crap that had built up. Works fine now.

You might of checked this already so apologies if I sound patronising. But just thought I'd let you know how I fixed my similar problem.

    Hi Gav,

Cheers for the tip, I've tried going at the nozzle with the pin, perhaps I need to go a bit deeper with a bit of wire. I'm looking for a new wiper arm as mine has gone "floppy" so when I get hold of one i'll take the whole thing apart and take a closer look.

    I appreciate the help...

    Cheers

    Russ

    Hi Gav,

Forgot to reply to let you know that my washer jet and the motor for that fact was absolutely covered in 'gunk' which blocked the jets up.

    Thanks again..
