Just checked engine code - it is AVF, would the thermostat be in the same place as on an AWX code engine? Thanks, Dan

Yes. In future always wise to quote the engine code in a posting. What is your problem with the temperature. Regards Peter

Thanks Peter, the problem I,ve got is that the temperature indicator sometimes goes up to 90 then down to 70 then bach to 90 and so on (oil temperature stays in 90 region), other times just stays at 70-75 ( with oil temperature around 75 - 80). I mostly drive on motorway but I once got stuck in traffic and I would of expected the temperature to go up but it only indicated 70-75. Am I wrong in suspecting a faulty thermostat? Regards, Dan

Assuming your temp sensor and connector are OK then it could well be the stat stuck open. Have you noticed that the car now take longer to heat up. Regards Peter

Yes, the car does take longer to heat up and it seems that drinks more fuel as well. Is there any tricky bit in changing the thermostat or is it a pretty streight forward job? Regards, Dan
