ive just put my Passat estate 1.9 SE through its first MOT. im happy to say it passed as expected although i did get an advisory on both rear suspension bushes being worn. Having only just covered 22k i was a little suprised, when i asked about them at the main dealer who MOT,d the car i was told not to worry as there was no play on the rear suspension, however im concerned at this premature wear and tear........has anybody else experienced this problem?

This does not seem to make sense! How can they tell they are worn then? Just a thought - do you have uneven rear tyre wear or noisy tyres? Maybe it is uneven tyre wear "indicating" worn bushes! (See the related threads)

No uneven rear tyre wear or noisy tyres, no knocking, im still a little concerned and queried this again with Benfield Volkswagen, their reply was "both nearside and offside rear (track control) suspension arm rubber bushes are deteriorated however they are not resulting in excessive movement, this advisory may show on your M.O.T for the next few years before they actually need replacing?
Still dont think this is right for a car that has covered only 22k and isnt actually 3 years old until next month. Is this normal for a car of this age? Did i just get an MOT tester who likes to look for something to write on an advisory notice? Maybe i should take it somewhere for a second opinion? Still a little confused myself.
