Hi
I Have a 1997 MK3 Golf 1.6 GL (AFT Engine). I have recently tried to fit a replacement blower motor. All was going well until I came to removing the earth lead only to discover its connected behind the plastic trim just inside the passenger door. Is it a must that you have to remove the trim to get to it or is there another way ? the Haynes manual mentions nothing about removing trim to do this job , all it says is remove the lower shelf under the glove box to gain access.
I did attempt to remove the side trim only to discover the plastic trim that runs along the door sill sits on top of this. I could only find one screw on the sill trim which was located at the end just behind the mid-section, There does not seem to be any other screws holding this on. I tried to lever it off with a flat blade screwdriver but was a bit worried about breaking it. If anybody out there has replaced their blower motor recently I would appreciate a bit of advice on how to tackle it.

Thanks
