Just a few questions.... what sort of mpg would i get out of a 2.5tdi estate. auto box?

How reliable are the auto box's (5sp tiptronic) before they give up!?

Personally I use www.parkers.co.uk for all comparisons, but you could also try www.whatcar.com.

Reliability is really down to how well you look after the car or how well the previous owner looked after the car.

There's not an awful lot of reported problems, but a quick look on the forums at www.clubb5.com should give you some ideas. It's predominantly an American site so don't expect a lot of info on the TDi, but there are a lot of auto drivers.
