Hi all, I hope you dont mind me crashing your passat forum but I own a Superb and i'm looking for the fuse that supplies the 12v socket in the boot, the hand book refers to the socket but there is no mention of which is the right fuse, The reason why im asking is that i'm looking to wiring in auxillary electrics and i've been told by a local towbar fitters that they use the 12v supply as its permanent which is whats needed for the relay unit, For peace of mind i'd like to know where the fuse is and what it's rated at as I ideally need a 15amp supply, thanks BryanP

If it is similar to that in the Passat then you'll need to remove the lower dash panel (above your knees as you sit in the RH seat).

There are an array of fuses and relays under there, from memory I can't remember which one you want though

The fuses on the Superb are at the end of the drivers side of the dash board, I've been through them all with no luck, thought the passat might be the same. BryanP

    That Passat is the same.

I meant that the fuses for the cig lighters are in a different location to those for general items in that they're under the lower dash.

Yes there should be two yellow 20amp fuses above the foot pedals, along with all the relays. I dont think they are classed as "user servicable parts!"

This fits with what I know - my rearmost socket wasn't working but the ******* fixed it in a few minutes under warranty. Prior to that by checking the handbook I had already found three fuse boxes: under the bonnet and at each end of the dash but somebody told me there is a FOURTH somewhere else in the car. I'll have a "shuftie" under the dash tonight for that one.

This makes sense as well because I haven't found the relays yet.
