Part Numbers

Can enyone tell me if the part numbers for audi are the same as vw. the reason i ask is my nearest audi dealer is 20 miles away, but i have a vw dealer only 4 miles. I have looked on etka and the part numbers are the same for some parts on my car as on a vw passat. so i assume these are the same part. is this correct.

If its the same part number - its exactly the same part.

VW dealers have access to Audi Etka as its a shared program, and should have no trouble in obtaining parts for your car if they are shared in common with any VW.
Any parts that are Audi unique can only be got from Audi Dealers or VW group TPS agents (Trade Parts Specialists)

Some VW Dealers refuse to get you any Audi parts though, so it's worth a call and a check first.

I know, I don't understand it. I wondered if it was just franchises agreements or something.

I must admit i deal with TPS is if a need anything so i dont have this issue ,
but i feel for those it effects at the end of the day there all the same group of companys i dont see the issue

Thanks for the replies gents. I got the parts I wanted from vw dealer. Spares Bloke told me as long as part No are the same should be no problem.
